Story in a nutshell:
My paintings were distorted because of my monitor settings, and I have since then fixed and re-uploaded them all... Read on for the full story:
So, I recently found out that for months, I have been painting at a distorted resolution. Apparently my monitor only has ONE setting where the proportions of images come out as accurate on my screen. This makes everything TINY so I have a avoided this resolution all this time, using instead 1024X768, which is a 4:3 ratio, while my monitor is a 16:10 widescreen. So my monitor had been stretching all my images to fit the screen. To me everything looked normal, but objectively on other monitors everything was distorted. I found out by looking at my paintings on another computer, and then fixing my monitor to its "Native Resolution".
Anyway, I have since then spent 2 full working days doing all kinds of math and and theoretical equations to come up with a one shot formula to fix all my paintings just as I saw them when I painted them. Well I finally came up with a magic percentage to widen them all and I have since fixed and re-uploaded all of my paintings. I don't know if you guys will see the difference but it is a pretty big one. Anyway,
LESSON LEARNED:
EVERYONE DOING ANY GRAPHIC ARTS WORKS NEEDS TO RUN THEIR MONITORS AT "NATIVE RESOLUTION"
(or an equivelant ratio at least)
I hope this helps...
